Practices

Practice is held Monday-Friday

Swimmers are encouraged to participate each day until the first meet.  After the first meet, swimmers should try to attend 3 weekly practices.

Swimwear & Team Shirts

• An apparel store through Midwest inc will be emailed so participants can order optional t-shirts and towels.
• Female participants are encouraged to wear a one-piece black or purple swimsuit. Male participants are encouraged to wear black or purple bottoms.  We also encourage goggles used for competitive swimming, not deep-diving goggles.

Cost

• $35 for the first swimmer, $35 for the second swimmer, and $10 for each additional swimmer per family thereafter. 
• Fees will be paid directly to the Seneca Swim Team.  (Fees are collected to cover the cost of meet entry fees paid at each meet for each swimmer and ribbons for home meets   DO NOT TURN MONEY INTO THE CITY OF SENECA). 
• Please send payment on the first day of practice!

• Swimmers must be comfortable in the water without assistance and should be able to swim across the deep end independently.
• Parents are expected to work at all home meets. Communication will be done via email. 
• Participants do not have to attend all meets. However, they must participate in 2 meets to qualify for the league meet.

Regular Meets:

          Sign-up genius used

          Parents sign child up for individual events (3)

          Coaches sign participants up for relays

League Meet:

            Limited to top 6 swimmers in each event

            Coaches decide events for all swimmers

Order of Events

            Medley Relay (coaches determine who does what. Order is Back-Brest, Butter, Free)

            Individual Medley (swimmers do 1 lap of butterfly, 1 lap of back, 1 lap of breast, and then 1 lap of  free)

                 *Back

                 *Breast

                 *Butterfly

                 *Freestyle

                        *8-Under, 9-10, and 11-12 do 1 lap.  *13-14 and 15-18 do 2 laps

                 **Extended Free

                        **8-Under, 9-10, and 11-12 do 2 laps.  **13-14 and 15-18 do 4 laps

                    Freestyle Relay (coaches decide who does what)

Swim Meets

• Remember, you can attend the meets that work for your schedule, but your child must participate in two meets to attend the league meet.
• Sign-Up Genius will send you an email to sign up for the meets. It will be open from Sunday to Tuesday before each meet.
• You must sign your child(ren) up for 3 events.  Make sure you put them in the correct age group. 
• First, you will click on all of the events for your child(ren). 
• Then, in the comment section for each event, type your child’s first and last name. The sign-up will be open from Sunday to Tuesday before each meeting. 
• COACHES WILL DECIDE RELAYS BASED ON THE DUE DATE. 
• If your child will not participate, please mark them under the “NOT PARTICIPATING” category.
• No, you cannot tell a lifeguard what events you want your child(ren) in.
• No, you cannot email what events you want your child(ren) in.
• Yes, you can email if you need to inform the coaches about something special (i.e. he has a baseball tournament in the morning, so don’t put him in the Medley Relay, but you can put him in the Freestyle Relay)
